Josh Tongue was amongst the wickets as Worcestershire bowled out Warwickshire for 181 on the second day of the two-day game at Edgbaston.
The paceman picked up four of the first five wickets to fall in the home side’s first innings and ended with figures of 4-23 from 11 overs.
Pat Brown (3-50 off nine overs) and Charlie Morris (2-33 off 12 overs) were the other main wicket-takers.
Tongue followed that up with two more scalps in Warwickshire’s second innings to give him overall figures of 15-3-50-6 as Warwickshire closed on 146-3 and an overall total of 327-13.
Worcestershire had scored 383-13 on the opening day and it was the Bears turn to bat all day.
But the wickets were soon tumbling to the new ball attack of Tongue and Morris and they were reduced to 5-4.
Alex Mellor (0) was caught by Daryl Mitchell at second slip off Tongue and it became 0-2 when Liam Banks (0) was lbw to Morris.
Tongue bowled Adam Hose (0) and then Mitchell pouched a second catch off the same bowler to account for Matt Lamb (0).
Sam Hain and Tim Ambrose (41) added 79 for the fifth wicket before Tongue returned to dismiss the latter who edged through to keeper Alex Milton.
Wickets continued to fall at steady intervals and Brown polished off the latter part of the innings to leave Hain unbeaten on 68.
Hain continued to bat when Warwickshire started their second innings and he added 76 more runs to take his combined tally to 144 before he was lbw to Tongue who also dismissed Hose (5) in the same manner.
Skipper and spinner Brett D’Oliveira trapped Mellor (11) leg before.
*Worcestershire wicket-keeper Ben Cox was not required to bat as MCC drew the four-day game against Champion County Surrey in Dubai.
Only 19 overs play was possible on the final day before rain set in and MCC advanced in their second innings from 221-1 to 265-4 – an overall lead of 10 runs.
Cox had scored 27 in MCC’s first innings of 265.
