From Wedding Fayre To Olly Murs As Worcs Ccc Host String Of Events

We are only at the start of February but already several exciting events have been lined up by Worcestershire CCC during 2017 – from a Wedding Fayre to Olly Murs!

It is well documented that the County needs to become a successful 365 days a year business to flourish and help support the cricketing side of the club.

And below are just a few of the events that are vital in promoting and enabling Worcestershire CCC to expand and make full use of its various venues – from The View to The Graeme Hick Pavilion to the Chestnut Marquee.

Worcestershire CEO Tom Scott said: "We have made it clear just how important it is for the future of Worcestershire CCC to make full use of it's wide range of venues on a regular basis.

"This is essential in ensuring the club not only survives but ultimately flourishes and helps us achieve our goals of becoming 1) debt free and 2) supporting to an even greater extent the cricket side of the club.

"The club is geared up for and can cater for all sort of events – from corporate to conference to weddings – and we pride ourselves on the standards we set in terms of catering and hospitality."

First on the agenda this Sunday (February 5) is the latest Worcestershire CCC Wedding Fayre from 11am to 3pm.

We will be welcoming many local industry professionals to our historic venue and couples thinking of tying the knot will be able to meet and discuss everything needed for that special day – from cakes to cars to dresses.

Once again our top notch catering team will also being given a demonstration of the high quality menus that are available.

But in addition to the wedding celebration, couples can also stage the actual ceremony at New Road after obtaining a civil licence.

And on Sunday we are pleased to be welcoming The Worcestershire Registrar Office, who will be conducting a live wedding ceremony demonstration on site.

The event is free to attend and there is ample free parking on site.  Book online to receive your free goody bag and glass of Prosecco on arrival!

If you are interested in booking your wedding at Worcestershire County Cricket Club you will be able to sit with a member of our team to discuss that day never to forget. Let us make it memorable for you.

Football takes centre stage on March 2 with an Aston Villa Legends Night in the Graeme Hick Pavilion.

Pie & chips will be served before Aston Villa's legendary 1982 European Cup winners Tony Morley & Nigel Spink relive their memories when interviewed by team-mate Andy Blair.

The night will conclude with a Question and Answer Session with guests able to pose questions to their heroes, and a raffle will also take place with some exciting prizes up for grabs.

Tickets for this event are priced at just £35 per person or £300 for a table of ten.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available including: pre-event meet & greet, a table nearest the stage and recognition in all pre-event promotion.

Please contact Paul Biggerstaff on 07706 712219 or 01905 337933 or email paul.biggerstaff@wccc.co.uk to discuss.

Next up on Thursday, April 6 is the ever popular Chairman's Lunch which will be held in the Chestnut Marquee.

Last year’s event sold out well in advance as over 250 guests enjoyed a fantastic afternoon which included a great performance from legendary stand-up comedian Mick Miller!

Worcestershire County Cricket Club Chairman Stephen Taylor – the former Great Britain hockey international – will be joined at the luncheon by the first team squad.

In-keeping with tradition, guests will arrive in the Graeme Hick Pavilion where the bar will be open, before heading down to the Chestnut Marquee for a delicious three course luncheon.

Individual places are priced at £49 per person or a table of ten at £450 . Please contact Paul Biggerstaff (details above) to discuss.

On Friday, April 28 it will be the turn of the Worcestershire CCC Golf Day at Sapey Golf Club to take centre stage.

The Rowan Course at Sapey has played host to the Club’s annual golf day for the past two years and features 18 holes on 6,003 yards set high in the rolling hills of the Herefordshire and Worcestershire border.

Tea, coffee and bacon rolls will be served in the clubhouse on arrival before action commences with a shotgun start at 1.30pm and the afternoon’s play will be followed by a delicious three-course dinner in the clubhouse with a raffle taking place on the evening.

A team of four costs just £295 plus VAT,  but if you’re struggling to scramble together enough players for a fourball then worry not, as a number of the Worcestershire CCC players will be available to play on the day if required.

One of the major highlights of 2017 will be the concert by music superstar Olly Murs at New Road on Sunday June 25.

It follows on from last September's Legends Concert which was head-lined by reggae giants UB40.

Olly Murs said, “I am thrilled to play outdoors at Worcestershire County Cricket Club. Outdoor shows are so much fun and I am looking forward to performing my biggest songs on my biggest outdoor tour!”

Tickets at Worcestershire County Cricket Club are priced at: £39.50 + booking fee & postage fee (General Admission) and £55.00 + booking fee & postage fee (Platinum enclosure) and can be obtained through the Worcestershire CCC website.

Tickets are all standing. Disabled Tickets are available directly from the venue but are very limited. Hospitality Packages are also available.

Worcestershire CCC are then staging another of their popular Outdoor Cinema Events with the Disney classic 'The Jungle Book' being screened at New Road on Sunday July 2.

Families and friends will have the chance to sing and dance to classic tunes such as 'The Bare Necessities' and 'I Wanna Be Like You' from the 1967 film.

It follows on from the success of last year's Outdoor Cinema Events 'The Lion King' and 'Finding Nemo'

Tickets are again priced at just £10 for Adults and £5 for Juniors with a Family Ticket for two Adults and two Juniors costing £25.

The County are planning another Outdoor Cinema Event later in the summer.

But look out too for other events and functions currently being lined up as CEO Tom Scott and the County business team move ever closer to fulfilling their determination to become a 365 days a year business.
