Yorkshire skipper Andrew Gale believes Worcestershire have the resilience and fighting qualities to win their battle to stay in Division One.
Gale was considerably impressed with the attitude and determination shown by skipper Daryl Mitchell's side in the recent four-day clash against the Tykes at Scarborough which extended into the final afternoon before the home side won by seven wickets.
He is impressed by the policy of giving home grown talent a chance at New Road.
Gale said: "I was very impressed with the way they went about their business at Scarborough. I thought they were very workmanlike, very professional and they had a lot of fight about them.
"When you are playing against teams who are fighting for their life, at the bottom, especially this time of the year, sometimes they can give up – and they didn't give up right to the end.
"With that resilience and fight, they can survive and stay in Division One, definitely.
"I also think it is pleasing to see the youngsters. We've got a similar policy at Yorkshire. We want to give our home grown lads an opportunity and that is what Worcestershire are doing and probably why they've got a good togetherness and a good fight about them."
Gale added: "They've got some real talent. I was impressed with Joe Clarke. I thought he batted really well, mature on young shoulders.
"They've also got a fantastic leader in Mitch (Daryl Mitchell), a true professional, and they've got some really good bowlers.
"I thought Charlie Morris bowled really well and Joe Leach is having a good season as well.
"They will be better for the experience of playing a lot of cricket and I'm sure they will get a lot of confidence from the success they had in T20 in finishing where they have done.
"You can take some of that confidence and form into the Championship. Looking at the table it is going to be a real scrap right to the end so good luck to them."
