Gidman Named In Seconds Squad For Home Clash With Mcc Young Cricketers

Alex Gidman is included in the Worcestershire Seconds squad for the Second Eleven Championship clash with MCC Young Cricketers at RGS Worcester's Flagge Meadow ground starting tomorrow (Monday).

Gidman suffered concussion when struck on the helmet by a Ben Hilfenhaus bouncer in the LV = County Championship match with Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge 12 days ago.

The former Gloucestershire player did not recover in time for the home Championship success over Hampshire last week but is part of a 12 strong squad for the three-day encounter.

Tom Fell, who is Worcestershire's second highest Championship scorer behind skipper Daryl Mitchell, is also named with the county only involved in NatWest T20 Blast action during the forthcoming week.

The Seconds will be seeking their second Championship victory of the campaign after the innings victory over Yorkshire a fortnight ago at Barnt Green which was followed up by a rain-affected draw away to Nottinghamshire.
