Haynes And Ul-Hassan Hit Fifties For Injury-Hit Seconds

Jack Haynes and Zain Ul-Hassan scored half centuries for injury-hit Worcestershire Seconds who went down by eight wickets to Glamorgan Seconds on the final afternoon of a three-day friendly with Glamorgan Seconds at RGS Worcester.

The home side were already without George Rhodes (finger) and Xavie Clarke (ankle) and Adam Finch (back) were able to take no further part in the game.

But Ul-Hassan, drafted in as a replacement from the Academy game with Northamptonshire, and Haynes showed plenty of resistance.

Haynes resumed on 28 out of 53-3 and went onto make 57 from 122 balls with five fours before he was fifth out at 105 – caught at first slip by Morgan of Kieran Bull.

He took two more sharp chances to dismiss Tom Keast (18) and Bailey Wightman (10) at second slip and first slip respectively.

Ul-Hassan was ninth – and last out with Worcestershire a player short because of the injuries – with the total on 187 after hitting 56 off 139 deliveries with seven boundaries.

Andy Carter also made a useful 24 as Glamorgan were set a 121 target from 42 overs when they began their innings at 3pm.

Charlie Morris sent back Voke for a duck in the first over – caught behind – and it became 16-2 in the sixth over when Carter trapped Morgan (5) lbw.

But that was the County’s last success with the ball as Glamorgan reached their target in 29 overs.
