Haynes Superb Form In Vain In Best Of Bunburys Thriller

Jack Haynes outstanding form for the Midlands-North side proved in vain as London-East and South West triumphed on the final day of the 'Best of Bunburys' match at Loughborough.

Worcestershire Academy player Haynes scored 63 and 126 for the combined Midlands-North team but their opponents chased down a 341 target.

Haynes picked up two catches and there was a wicket for Worcestershire satellite academy player Xavier Clarke to add to scores of 78 and 18 not out.

But London-East and South West scrambled over the finishing line by one wicket despite Midlands-North using nine bowlers after the last pair came together with five needed.

*Worcestershire Under-19s will start a three-day match against their Northamptonshire counterparts at Desborough CC tomorrow.

Academy coach Elliot Wilson has chosen a 12 strong squad for the match which gets underway at 11am.

Paceman Adam Finch will return to Under-19s action after being part of the Midlands side in the Super Fours at Loughborough.
