Worcestershire 2016 overseas signing Matt Henry reached the 50 wicket mark in ODIs for New Zealand with another three victims in the 55 run win over Australia in Hamilton today.
The 24-year-old went to the milestone in his 25th ODI as the Black Caps triumphed 2-1 in the series.
Australia were faced with a 247 target and Henry struck the first blow when he had David Warner (16) caught off the back foot at cover with 39 on the board.
He then returned to the attack to strike two crucial blows in the space of three overs in removing George Bailey and Mitchell Marsh.
The pair had added 59 for the fifth wicket to steady the Australian innings after they had been reduced to 94-4.
But then Henry bowled Bailey (33) via the inside edge at 153-5 and 11 runs later held onto a low return catch after Marsh (41) had deflected a delivery onto his boot before it flew back up the wicket.
Henry, who will be at New Road for the first half of the season, finished with 3-60 from 10 overs.
New Zealand totalled 246 all out in 45.3 overs, having been 223-4 in the 41st over at one stage. Brendon McCullum scored 47 on his final ODI appearance for New Zealand.
Another Worcestershire 2016 capture, Kiwi spinner Mitchell Santner, was ruled out of the game after experiencing pain in his right foot at the conclusion of the previous ODI in Wellington.
