Henry Reveals Goals As He Prepares For Worcs Debut At Bristol

Matt Henry is poised to finally make his Specsavers County Championship debut for Worcestershire in tomorrow's clash with Gloucestershire at Bristol.

The New Zealand paceman was forced to delay his first appearance for the County by the wash-out of the home encounter with Kent.

He hopes a string of impressive performances for Worcestershire will boost his chances of cementing a spot in the Black Caps Test team.

But Henry also wants to help Worcestershire achieve their goals for the 2016 campaign which include reclaiming a Division One spot at the first attempt.

Henry said: "I am really lucky to have this opportunity and looking forward to getting started with Worcestershire.

"I have always known about county cricket in England because it's a high standard with a lot of overseas players and it's a great way to keep playing cricket, learning and getting better.

"I am really excited about the season ahead. I haven't come here with individual targets. I am looking to try to do my best for the team and help them reach their goals.

"But I think this is a perfect time to play some cricket and keep developing my game.

"I really want to push for the New Zealand Test side and we've got a few Test tours coming up.

"I want to give myself the best opportunity to be selected for those tours and that's why I have come here to play some cricket.

"Test cricket is such a massive challenge and it's something I haven't had the success I would have liked so far."
