Hepburn Helping Hand For Dragons Who Have Too Much Fire For South Perth

Alex Hepburn helped Willetton Dragons to win their opening match in the Western Australian Cricket Association T20 qualifying competition against visiting South Perth today.

The Worcestershire all-rounder did not bat but bowled a tidy spell with the ball as Willetton triumphed by 31 runs.

South Perth put Willetton into bat and they totalled 171-5 in their 20 overs with Lancashire player Liam Livingstone top-scoring with 94 off 60 balls with six sixes and five fours.

Livingstone will be well known to Hepburn as he scored 118 and 71 in a Second Eleven Championship match at Southport and 162 in a Second Eleven match at Old Trafford against Worcestershire Seconds last summer.

Hepburn took a catch to dismiss B. Guest and ended a stand of 67 for the second wicket with T. Ovens (47) with the total on 103.

He came into the attack as first change and dismissed D. Silva for 15 as South Perth were restricted to 140-7 from their 20 overs.

Hepburn finished with figures of 1-12 from his three overs.

The competition is split into four groups of four teams and also in Willetton's group are Mount Lawley District and Joondalup.
