Hepburn To Skipper Seconds In Championship Clash With Lancs

Hepburn To Skipper Seconds In Championship Clash With Lancs

Alex Hepburn will skipper Worcestershire Seconds when they return to Second Eleven Championship action tomorrow (Tuesday) against Lancashire at RGS Worcester's Flag Meadow ground.

Hepburn will take over the leading of the side from George Rhodes who is part of the senior squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup match with Northamptonshire at New Road on Wednesday.

Spinner Ben Twohig and batsman Zen Malik return to the 12 man squad.

They are currently part of the England Under-19s squad but have been released to play for the Seconds after not being named for the opening 'Test' against Sri Lanka at Fenners tomorrow.

Twohig last week signed a new three year contract with the County up until the end of the 2019 campaign.

The Seconds won their opening two Championship matches against Leicestershire at Oakham School and Northamptonshire at Kidderminster.

Since then they have drawn the games with Yorkshire at Scarborough and Derbyshire at Derby and been beaten by Durham at Stourbridge and MCC Universities at Kidderminster.
