High Placing For Leach In Pca Most Valuable Player Ratings

Joe Leach's fine season for Worcestershire is reflected in his final position in the Professional Cricketers' Assciation Most Valuable Player listings for the LV = County Championship.

The all-rounder finished in fifth spot after his 59 wickets and nearly 500 runs in the competition during the 2015 campaign.

Leach accumulated 327 points at an average of 23.34 for each of his 14 appearances.

The PCA MVP is a cumulative points system that rewards players for every run scored, every wicket taken and every catch held – and, how well they do it. A player achieves bonus points based in certain criteria.

Leach's county colleague Jack Shantry was not far behind in 13th spot with 306 points at an average of 19.11 per game – the second year running he has finished in the top 20.

Other Worcestershire players to appear in the top 100 were Tom Fell (44th), Ben Cox (51st), Charlie Morris (52nd) and Daryl Mitchell (99th).

The winner was Durham's Chris Rushworth with 458 points at an average of 28.62 per game.
