Many of the music stars of the 1990s and 2000s are heading to Blackfinch New Road at the height of summer for ‘Popfest’ in another music extravaganza at Worcestershire CCC, promoted by SC Entertainments & SC Events, on Saturday 30th June 2018.
Last summer 10,000 fans flocked to Blackfinch New Road to see superstar Olly Murs deliver a memorable show.
The pledge from the County to stage these events on a regular basis will continue when Louise, Gabrielle, Boyzlife – comprising original members of Boyzone and Westlife – East 17, S Club, Chesney Hawkes and Whigfield will appear at ‘Pop Fest’.
Early Bird tickets for this all-day event will cost just £35 and children under the age of 12 go FREE (when accompanied by an adult).
VIP hospitality packages are also available which include:
– Diamond Package at just £100 per person with VIP entrance to Level 2 of The View, access to a seated viewing balcony with prime view of the stage, a glass of prosecco on arrival and complimentary premium grazing buffet.
– Exclusive use of a private hospitality box for 10 guests is £1,200 which includes a glass of prosecco on arrival and complimentary premium grazing buffet with waitress service to the box throughout the event. These exclusive boxes will guarantee a bird’s eye view of the entertainment and the chance to have a dance on your own private balcony.
Worcestershire Managing Director, Jon Graham, said: “This is the third successive year that we have held major concerts at Blackfinch New Road and it is an ongoing commitment from the club to stage them every year.
“There were 10,000 people at the Olly Murs concert last summer and this is another exciting bill for music lovers in the city and beyond to enjoy.
“It should be another day to remember and we are delighted that SC Entertainments & SC Events are promoting this event who have a proven track record in this field.”
Louise was a member of the ultra-successful R and B group Eternal but enjoyed massive success in her own right as a solo performer with platinum selling albums ‘Naked’, ‘Woman In Me’ and ‘Elbow Beach.’
She has also chalked up nine top 10 singles including ‘Naked’, ‘Undivided Love’, ‘Arms Around The World’, ‘2 Faced’, ‘Stuck In The Middle With You’ and ‘Pandora’s Kiss.’
Boyzlife includes Brian McFadden of Westlife and Keith Duffy of Boyzone – two mega boy bands who between them achieved 20 number one hits.
Westlife first hit top spot with ‘Swear It Again’ in 1999 and their first six singles went to pole position in the charts.
In total they enjoyed 14 number ones and 26 top ten entries.
Boyzone also experienced the same kind of massive success with 21 hit singles and their number ones included ‘Words’, ‘A Different Beat’ and ‘No Matter What.’
Singer-songwriter Gabrielle saw her debut single ‘Dreams’ go to number one in 1993 and six years later ‘Rise’ went the same way.
Her nine top ten hits included a duet with another of the ‘Pop Fest’ artists in East 17 with ‘If You Ever.’
East 17’s debut album ‘Walthamstow’ was a number one and their mixture of pop and hip hop brought them 18 top 20 singles including ‘House Of Love’, ‘Let It Rain’, ‘It’s Alright’, and ‘Steam.’
Their number one hit ‘Stay Another Day’ is a perennial Christmas favourite.
Chesney Hawkes was only 19 when in 1991 he rocketed to the top of the UK singles charts with ‘The One And Only’ and spent five weeks there. It also reached number one in nine countries all over Europe and was a top ten hit in the USA.
S Club (formerly S Club 7) clocked up four number one hit singles in ‘Bring It All Back’, ‘Never Had A Dream Come True’, ‘Don’t Stop Movin’ and ‘Have You Ever’ amongst 11 top five hits.
They also starred in their own BBC series ‘Miami’.
Danish singer Whigfeld’s greatest success came in 1993 when ‘Saturday Night’ went all the way to number one but she was no one-hit wonder with ‘Another Day’ and ‘Think Of You’ also top five hits the following year.
