Jujhar Johal produced another fine innings for Worcestershire Under-17s on the opening day of the ECB County Championship match with Somerset Under-17s at Stourbridge CC today.

Johal had scored a superb 159 to lead the Worcestershire fightback in the drawn game with Devon Under-17s at Stourport CC two weeks ago.
And he was again in the groove with a top score of 81 as Worcestershire were dismissed for 295 after electing to bat.

Johal came in after Jack Haynes departed for a first ball duck and shared in successive stands of 82 with Callum Lea (28) and 60 with Mahaaz Ahmed (30).

He was eventually third out at 142 and struck 16 boundaries in his 148 ball knock.

Billy Cox struck a quickfire 48 not out off 47 balls with one six and six fours as the last two wickets added 64.

Then Cox got to work with the ball and claimed two early scalps as Somerset closed on 21-2 from five overs.
