Worcestershire CCC is pleased to announce that Richard Jones has signed a two-year contract extension to remain at New Road until the end of the 2014 season.
The 25 year-old pace bowler has risen through the ranks of the Club since joining the Academy is 2003. Jones made his First Class debut in 2007, and recent form in the LV= County Championship has cemented his position in the county side. His nine appearances this Summer has seen Jones collect 30 wickets, including an impressive 6-32 on the opening day of the season.
Jones commented "I'm thrilled to commit the next two years to Worcestershire. It's a special place to play cricket and I'm looking forward to the challenges it holds. We have a young squad and a great dressing room atmosphere and I'm excited to be a part of that for at least the next two years."
Director of Cricket, Steve Rhodes, added "We are delighted that Richard has taken the decision to extend his contract with Worcestershire. Richard is a home-grown talent who has come through our Academy system, he has made a good start to his First Class cricketing career and continues to improve."
