JOSH DELL AWARDED COUNTY CAP BY CEO MATT RAWNSLEY

it is a proud day for worcestershire ccc batsman josh dell who today received his county cap from ceo matt rawnsley.

twenty-year-old dell was presented with his cap by mr rawnsley in a 10 o’clock ceremony on the outfield at New Road ahead of the specsavers county championship match with durham.

tenbury wells born dell is the 516th player to represent the county in first class cricket.

dell was greeted with a round of applause by his team-mates and support staff after being handed his cap.

he scored a superb unbeaten century for the seconds in a championship match against lancashire at northern ccc two weeks ago.

mr rawnsley said: “it is a very special day for josh in making his first class debut and a pleasure to give him his county cap.”

skipper joe leach said: “it’s always really exciting when someone gets their colours and a new number goes up on the board. it’s really exciting time for all of us to see that happen.

“delly is another one who has come through our system and credit to the club and pathway for producing yet another player.”
