There are only 100 days to go before Worcestershire CCC return to Specsavers County Championship Division One action at their Blackfinch New Road headquarters!

The 2018 campaign may seem quite some way off at present given the recent snowy, cold and wet weather.

But the countdown has begun in earnest to the opening home fixture of the 2017 campaign for new Head Coach Kevin Sharp, Captain Joe Leach and the players.

The remaining 14 days left in January, 28 in February, 31 in March and first 27 of April – total 100 – will soon disappear over the horizon!

Nottinghamshire are the first visitors to Blackfinch New Road on April 27 for the start of the four-day fixture.

It is a battle of the two promoted teams at the end of last season.

Sharp, Leach and Co will be hoping that Worcestershire can repeat last season’s memorable Championship form against their opponents.

They triumphed in superb style at Trent Bridge when Daryl Mitchell scored a century he rates as the best of his excellent career.

It was a victory that put Worcestershire on the path to overhauling Nottinghamshire and becoming Division Two champions.
