Ken Mills Mbe Leaves Treasure Trove Of Worcs Ccc-Cricket Memorabilia

Worcestershire Supporters' Association have been left a considerable array of Worcestershire CCC memorabilia by their former chairman Ken Mills MBE as part of his legacy.

Ken, who was at the helm of the WSA for 41 years before sadly passing away last August, had already left the Association a £50,000 legacy.

The memorabilia runs into many dozens of items – some of which will be of great interest to County supporters.

The Association committee are currently debating the best long term plan for this treasure trove of a collection.

One suggestion was to present it to County Heritage Group chairman Tim Jones to present as part of the collection in the Graeme Hick Pavilion and another to hold a special sale.

Association chairman Andrew Jenkins has collated a detailed list of the memorabilia.

But a selection of items – in no particular order – includes:

*Plates commemorating the County's 1974, 1988 and 1989 County Championship triumphs

*Framed signed calligraphy scorecard of 1991 Benson and Hedges Cup final victory

*Plate commemorating Glenn Turner's 100th hundred

*Two ashtrays marking the 1964 County Championship success

*Graeme Hick's 100th hundred limited edition silver cuff links

*Tudor Crystal Tankard marking the 1899-1999 Centenary match Worcs v Australia

*1975 England v Australia signed bat

*Eight part Sir Donald Bradman story on audio cassettes

*Worcestershire Year Books 1948-2009 (except 1949, 1950, 1952 and 1956)

*Signed picture by 1963 West Indies team

There are dozens more items and details of what is to happen with them will be announced at a future date.
