Kervezee And Leach Included In County Squad For Trip To Hove

Worcestershire Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 12 man squad for the LV = County Championship clash with Sussex at Hove beginning on Sunday (11am).

Rhodes will have to make one enforced change from the side beaten by Yorkshire by 10 wickets at New Road earlier in the week.

All-rounder Moeen Ali has flown out to the West Indies for the remainder of the England tour of the Caribbean after proving his fitness against the Tykes following a side strain.

Rhodes has added batsman Alexei Kervezee and all-rounder Joe Leach to the other 10 players on duty against Yorkshire.

Kervezee was Worcestershire's second highests run scorer in the Championship last season with more than 800 runs.

It was a vastly improved performance from the Dutch international after he had averaged 10 in the Championship in 2013.

Leach picked up 33 Championship wickets and scored three half centuries in four innings towards the end of the campaign – including two in the promotion clinching win over Surrey.

Tom Fell, who scored a superb century against Yorkshire, is a strong candidate to move up to number three in the order in place of Moeen.

Worcestershire (from): Mitchell, Oliver, Fell, Gidman, Kohler-Cadmore, Kerveze, Cox, Andrew, Shantry, Senanayake, Morris, Leach.
