Kervezee Called Up By Worcs For Home Clash With Sussex

Alexei Kervezee will return to the Worcestershire side for the first time this season in Sunday's Specsavers County Championship clash with Sussex at New Road.

Kervezee was named in the squad for the washed out opening game with Kent but then, with Moeen Ali available for the next three matches, he reverted to playing second team cricket.

Now the Dutch international is back for the battle of the two sides relegated from Division One at the end of last season.

Kervezee achieved his highest score of last season when registering 93 against Sussex at Hove – in addition to picking up three wickets with his off-spin.

He also clocked up a century for the Seconds against Sussex Seconds at Kidderminster earlier this season.

Kervezee is expected to bat at number for or five with Joe Clarke moving up into the number three slot vacated by Moeen after the drawn clash with Glamorgan in Cardiff.

Paceman Matt Henry was rested against the Welsh county and returns in place of fellow New Zealander Mitchell Santner.

Charlie Morris is also part of a 12 strong squad named by Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes.
