Kervezee Hits Century As Seconds Suffer Innings Defeat At Chester Road

Alexei Kervezee hit a century and there was late order resistance from Ben Twohig before Worcestershire Seconds went down by an innings and 48 runs to their Middlesex counterparts at Chester Road, Kidderminster.

Kervezee went to three figures off 162 balls with six fours as Worcestershire, who resumed on 143-3, were bowled out for 325 shortly after lunch on the third and final day.

The Dutch international was eventually seventh out for 106 with the total on 229.

He was caught at first slip, one of four victims for Ryan Higgins who followed up his triple century yesterday by claiming 4-33 from 18.3 overs.

Worcestershire went to lunch at 241-8 and Twohig then went for his shots and was given good support in a last wicket stand of 54 with Pat Brown.

The England Under-19 player eventually fell at short mid wicket to give Higgins another success.

Former Gloucestershire paceman James Fuller also collected four wickets and finished with figures of 4-103 from 23 overs.

The Seconds will wind up their 2016 programme by taking on Hampshire in a four-day game at the Ageas Bowl from September 12-15.
