Tom Kohler-Cadmore is aiming this summer to build on the form he showed at the end of last season for Worcestershire and throughout the winter for Penrith Panthers in Australia.
The County batsman regained his spot for the final two County Championship matches of 2015 and responded with 89 at Durham and a maiden first class hundred against Middlesex at New Road.
It was a reward for some fine innings for the Seconds including an excellent 150 against a strong Yorkshire attack at Barnt Green.
Then Kohler-Cadmore flew out to Penrith in early October and ended his five month stint as their highest scorer after helping them to win the Sydney Grade Cricket Club Championship.
Now the former Malvern College pupil has his sights on "scoring the runs I want to score and the club want me to score."
Kohler-Cadmore said: "I just went over there (Australia) to try and score as many runs as I could and I kind of came off.
"It is always nice if you are in the sun all the year round and I felt it was good for my development because it helped me learn to build an innings more.
"At the end of last season I was in a really good place which allowed me to keep building on that and keep the momentum going.
"Because it has gone well, my confidence is high right now so going into the season I'm looking forward to it.
"Hopefully I can put my foot down this year and score the runs I want to score and obviously the club want me to score."
Kohler-Cadmore admits he relished the verbal sparring that went on with the opposition Down Under.
He said: "Did I get a lot of sledging? I had some knocks where they'd have a go and, if you got out early, they'd give you a send-off. When you scored runs, they'd stop saying stuff.
"I quite enjoyed giving them some stuff back. I remember one game where I got dropped early doors. I nicked off in the first over.
"They were all saying 'going to nick another one, nick this one to me' and I said 'well you should have caught the first one' and then all the slip cordon just started going nuts and swearing at me, as you'd expect being Australians.
"They'd have a go at me and I'd just wind them up a little bit more which was good!"
Kohler-Cadmore says the pre-season trip to Abu Dhabi was beneficial but peaking against Kent at New Road in the opening Championship match on April 10 is key.
He said: "Abu Dhabi went well. Disappointed with the weather, would have liked to hit more balls. Personally it went okay. Team-wise, we would have liked to get a win but I feel everyone got something out of the tour.
"Batting in the two-day game (against Warwickshire), everyone got at least an hour in the middle, got some time under their belts at the crease, confidence under their belt.
"The scores there, this far out, it doesn't matter. All you want to do is build your confidence and everyone came back in a good place.
"It also showed areas we need to improve so it was kind of perfect for coming back. The only game that matters now is the first game, April 10 and peaking then.
"You don't want to be winning all your pre-season games and then getting to the season and be burnt out.
"You want to be winning your first game of the season, then the second game, and get the momentum rolling there."
