Tom Kohler-Cadmore's side, Penrith Panthers, are well placed to push for victory after day one of their New South Wales Premier first grade clash with visiting North Sydney.
But there was weather frustration for fellow Worcestershire CCC players Ed Barnard and Alex Hepburn in the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade.
Kohler-Cadmore, who enjoyed a successful 2015-2016 campaign with Penrith when topping their batting averages, was dismissed for a single batting at number three and was second out with the total on 69.
But centuries from J Bartolo (119) and J Sammut (123), who put on 142 for the third wicket, enabled Penrith to reach 362 all out in 80.3 overs after electing to bat.
Then they claimed an early wicket as North Sydney closed on 10-1 after four overs in a match which will be concluded next Saturday.
Barnard and Hepburn were hoping to launch the campaign for Scarborough and Willetton Dragons respectively in 50 over matches.
But Scarborough's home encounter with Wanneroo Districts was washed out and Willetton's away clash with Rockingham-Mandurah suffered the same fate.
In fact, all eight games in the competition were abandoned.
Barnard will hope for better luck next weekend when Scarborough visit Subiaco Floreat whilst Wlletton will entertain Mount Lawley, the side for whom Tom Fell played last winter.
