Kohler-Cadmore To See Consultant After Suffering Shoulder Setback

Kohler-Cadmore To See Consultant After Suffering Shoulder Setback

Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes is optimistic that Worcestershire batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore will be fit for the start of the 2017 campaign.

Kohler-Cadmore has returned to New Road from a spell playing grade cricket abroad after suffering a shoulder injury.

He had not been scheduled to rejoin the County until early March but will now see a consultant to assess the extent of the problem.

Rhodes said: "Tom should be alright for the start of the season but we are waiting for him to see the consultant.

"He won't be going back abroad. He has dislocated it when he was batting and we are hoping now there is not too much damage.

"But if there is a bit of damage and it needs some work done to it, then we will get it done as soon as we can."

Kohler-Cadmore experienced mixed fortunes with the bat last summer but did lift the Walter Lawrence Trophy for scoring the fastest century of the 2016 season in the NatWest T20 Blast clash with Durham at New Road.

Rhodes confirmed earlier in the week that pace duo Jack Shantry and Josh Tongue will be part of the Worcestershire squad for the pre-season camp in Abu Dhabi.

Shantry has been side-lined with a lower back problem while Tongue underwent surgery in September on a lumbar spine injury and has been undergoing a winter rprogramme.
