Joe Leach has become the first Worcestershire player to reach 50 wickets in the LV = County Championship this season.
The all-rounder reached the milestone for the first time in his career on the third day of the LV = County Championship match with Nottinghamshire at New Road.
Leach went to the half century mark when he dismissed Nottinghamshire number three Steven Mullaney, caught at cover by Brett D'Oliveira off a leading edge.
The Stafford-born player needed only 10 matches to clock up 50 wickets after not being included in the side for the opening two LV = CC matches of the campaign before replacing the injured Gareth Andrew.
Leach was the fourth player in Division One to reach 50 behind Durham's Chris Rushworth (71 in 12), Sussex's Steve Magoffin (56 in 12) and Middlesex's James Harris (54 in 12).
He is currently three wickets ahead of New Road colleague Jack Shantry (47) while not far behind is Charlie Morris on 42.
It means for the second successive season, three Worcestershire bowlers are on target to take 50 or more wickets in the LV = CC.
In 2014 Saeed Ajmal (63), Shantry (56) and Morris (52) were the principle wicket-takers for Worcestershire with Leach chipping in with 33.
Leach's best tally this season was his career best haul of 6-73 against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
