Leach Praises Quality Of Rapids Performances In T20 Blast

Vice-captain Joe Leach says opponents of Worcestershire Rapids should be worried about facing them because of their quality of performances in the NatWest T20 Blast.

Leach carried off the man of the match award with his 3-33 after the Rapids defeated Yorkshire Vikings by seven wickets at New Road last night.

It was their second successive T20 Blast victory in front of the Sky Sports cameras after last week's triumph over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.

Leach said: "It was a fantastic performance. From one to 11 we were absolutely brilliant, getting towards a complete performance.

"Our fielding was outstanding and that run chase, the way Alexei (Kervezee) and Dolly (Brett D'Oliveira), and to be fair everyone, contributed, from one to five…..they've all batted unbelievably well.

"Yorkshire got more than they should have done but we've won that in a canter in the end.

"Does that give you confidence? We are full of confidence anyway because we've learnt over the last two years, in particular last year, that we are one of the best sides in the country in this format.

"Anyone who says otherwise, doesn't watch us enough.

"We are starting to get recognition for that now around the country and people should be and are worried about us, and rightly so."

Leach added: "Against Birmingham we weren't at our best in patches and again in this game, we gave them 20 or 30 more than we should have done after what was an excellent performance for the first 16 overs, maybe 17.

"You run out of superlatives for the way we are playing in this format at the moment but that's not to say we are going to get carried away or anything like that."
