Worcestershire assistant coach Matt Mason was happy with the outcome of three days cricket with Gloucestershire at New Road as part of the build-up to the 2015 campaign.
Mason, who is also the county's bowling coach, felt there were plenty of positives to be taken with bat and ball in what was Worcestershire's first cricket on home soil since gaining promotion last September.
Worcestershire lost the 50 over game by one wicket after being on top for long periods and then dominated the two day drawn game apart from a late order batting collapse after tea on the opening day.
There were fifties from Joe Leach (50 over game)and Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Tom Fell (two day game) and encouraging bowling performances from Ross Whiteley, Gareth Andrew, Charlie Morris and Jack Shantry in dismissing Gloucestershire for 168 in the two-day game.
Mason said: "I was really pleased with the three days all in all. We were a little bit disappointed not to finish off the one-dayer.
"We had the best of that game and just didn't quite finish the job there but it was generally a very good performance except for the last partnership.
"I thought the two days of the two day game were very beneficial for us. With the bat, there were some really positive signs.
"Obviously we talked about the little collapse again (after tea on the first day) but all in all including the start of the second innings partnership (between Richard Oliver and Tom Fell) it was really positive.
"It wasn't the easiest of wickets to bat on either, it was doing plenty so to get the score we did (271) was good and bowling-wise I thought we started where we left off last year, really disciplined, just hitting really good areas again, with Charlie Morris phenomenal.
"I was really pleased for Ross Whiteley and it was perfect for Gaz (Andrew) in getting him right for that first game and again they showed as a group of four seamers, they really work well together so all in all it was very pleasing."
