Assistant coach Matt Mason reflected on the Rapids 152 run defeat against Lancashire Lightning today and then predicted "a much better performance" in Friday's home derby with Warwickshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Worcestershire suffered their first defeat in all competitions and became the last side of the 18 first class records to lose their unbeaten record in 2017 in the One-Day Cup clash versus the Red Rose County.
Lancashire totalled 313-5 in their 50 overs after choosing to bat and then bowled out the Rapids for 161 in 34.5 overs.
Mason, who is also the County's bowling coach, said: "We were off our best probably in the field, at times with the ball and certainly with the bat.
"We had a quick chat and we’re very keen to move on from it.
"We’ve had some very good performances this year and we now want to prepare for the Bears on Friday.
"The partnership between Vilas and Clark was the turning point in the game.
"Fair play to them, Vilas’s hundred was an outstanding innings, he played all round the ground and Clark supported him very well.
"They were very good with the ball too. Obviously Jimmy Anderson is class but they executed those skills better than us, too.
"It was our sloppiest performance in the field too and I think against the Bears you’ll see a much better performance."
