Worcestershire assistant coach Matt Mason has praised the impact made by Tom Kohler-Cadmore after bouncing back in style from a challenging start to his first team career.
The 19-year-old played in the opening five LV = County Championship matches before being given a break from senior action.
In typical fashion Kohler-Cadmore went away and worked at his game, scored plenty of runs for the second eleven and a century against Cambridge University, and has not looked back since returning to the side against Leicestershire at Grace Road.
He scored his maiden Championship 50 in that game, followed it up with 85 against Glamorgan and then 99 in the return meeting with Leicestershire in addition to a half century against Birmingham Bears in the NatWest T20 Blast.
Mason said: "I'm really pleased for him. If you think, he went through a bit of a bad patch at the start of the season.
"Everyone was wondering 'is it too soon' but he has just proved to us all what a good young lad he is and what a good young cricketer he is.
"He is going to have a long career around that top order for sure."
Kohler-Cadmore is part of the Rapids squad for tonight's T20 Blast clash with Northamptonshire Steelbacks.
Mason insists confidence has not been affected by successive defeats to Lancashire Lightning and Birmingham Bears as the Rapids bid to book a quarter-final spot.
He said: "We need probably to win one if not two of our games to get a quarter-final. We've had a couple of hiccups the last two games but the guys still have lots of confidence.
"The win (against Leicestershire) will help as well. We may see a few changes with Saeed Ajmal going out and Mitchell McClenaghan coming in.
"We might tinker with a few things but, it's all to play for, and the guys are really looking forward to it."
