Mitchell And Ajmal In Top Ten Of T20 Blast Runs And Wickets Charts

Mitchell And Ajmal In Top Ten Of T20 Blast Runs And Wickets Charts

Daryl Mitchell and Saeed Ajmal figured prominently in the highest run-scorer and leading wicket-taker tables for the NatWest T20 Blast group programme.

Worcestershire Rapids skipper Mitchell finished in the top 10 of the national charts with 392 runs at an average of 32.66.

It is the second successive year that the 31-year-old has been the Rapids highest run-getter in the short format of the game although Tom Kohler-Cadmore (356) is not far behind.

Mitchell has scored three half centuries and played a leading role in the Rapids clinching a third quarter-final spot in the last four years.

The same could be said of spin wizard Ajmal who claimed 21 scalps from his 11 appearances in the competition at an average of 14.76 and an economy rate of 7.04 runs per over.

It was on a par with Ajmal's performances in the T20 Blast in 2011 at New Road when eight games yielded 16 wickets.

The top 10 leading run-getters and wicket-takers ahead of the quarter-finals are:
