Daryl Mitchell has overtaken two more illustrious names in Worcestershire’s list of first class century-makers.
The County opener hit his sixth hundred of the campaign in the eight-wicket Specsavers County Championship triumph over Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
It was the 29th ton of his career and moved him ahead of HK ‘Harry’ Foster and Phil Neale (both on 28) and level in joint 11th position with his former team-mate Vikram Solanki.
Mitchell also only wants 62 more runs to complete 11,000 in first class cricket for Worcestershire.
He has moved to the top of the County’s current Championship batting averages with 1056 runs at an average of 52.80.
Joe Leach’s eight wickets against Nottinghamshire took his tally for 2017 to 58 at an average of 20.15 this summer.
Ed Barnard has made significant strides in the batting and bowling averages after his recent fine performances.
He has scored 475 runs at an average of 33.92 and taken 40 wickets at 25.52 – just one less than Josh Tongue.
