Moeen Back As Bumpy Names 14 Strong Squad To Face The Foxes

Worcestershire Rapids Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 14 strong squad for tomorrow's NatWest T20 Blast clash with Leicestershire Foxes at the Fischer County Ground.

Moeen Ali has been released by England – along with all the international players – and will play against the Foxes and in Saturday's home T20 Blast clash with Notts Outlaws.

Rhodes is also optimistic skipper Daryl Mitchell and New Zealand paceman Matt Henry will be available during the weekend double-header after both suffered rib injuries.

The Rapids are on a role in white ball cricket with three successive victories – against Yorkshire Vikings and Durham Jets in the Royal London One-Day Cup and Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the T20 Blast.

They currently top the North Group in the T20 Blast with four wins from five games but Rhodes knows the importance of sustaining their current level of performances.

He said: "We are top of the group at the moment and we are about a third of the way through the programme.

"We've still got to keep it going and recognise that there are a lot of tough games ahead of us.

"The game away at Leicester is a big game for us, a game where we will be desperate to keep our winning run going.

"Leicestershire are a formidable outfit. In past years, they've been quite useful at T20 cricket so we certainly are not going to take them lightly and we need to put in a really big performance."
