Moeen Believes His Game Will Be Suited To Windies Pitches

Moeen Ali is keen to join up with the England squad in the West Indies and believes his game will be suited to the pitches in the Caribbean.

The 27-year-old is currently enjoying being back amongst his Worcestershire team-mates at New Road.

Moeen is having treatment to the side strain suffered during the latter stages of the World Cup and also practicing in the New Road nets.

He said: "It's up to England what I do. I'm just going to get fit as quick as I can and they will decide if they want me out there (in the West Indies) or if they don't want me out there.

"Obviously it's going to be a long summer so hopefully I can be involved in all of that as well.

"On a personal note, I'd love to go out to the West Indies and play there because I think the pitches will suit me with the spin and the batting as well.

"I just want to keep playing for England. I'm just looking to get as fit as I can."

It was in the Windies that Moeen made his England breakthrough 14 months ago, scoring 44, 10 and 55 in three ODI's opening the batting with Michael Lumb.

Moeen has always been a popular figure amongst his county team-mates and he said: "I was really happy to come back and see all of the guys, Bumpy (Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes).

"I really enjoy talking to Bumpy about cricket.

"It feels great to come back and see all of the boys, train with them and and do a bit of batting.

"You never know, if England don't want me to go to the West Indies, then hopefully I'll be playing against Yorkshire in the first (LV = County Championship) game."
