Moeen Given Green Light By England To Play For Rapids Versus Outlaws On Sunday

Moeen Ali will return to the Worcestershire Rapids squad for their final home North Group game of 2018 in the Vitality Blast against Notts Outlaws on Sunday (2.30pm start).

The all-rounder, who is the Rapids official Blast captain this season, has been released by England to face the Outlaws.

But Moeen is unavailable for this evening’s away Blast fixture with Leicestershire Foxes.

The 31-year-old is part of the England squad for the current second Test with India at Lord’s but was not included in the final eleven.

Moeen last played for the Rapids in the televised game against the Outlaws last weekend when he scored 65 in a match where Callum Ferguson hit a fine century.

He will rejoin the Rapids with them already assured of a quarter-final spot but now aiming to secure a home tie by finishing in the top two in the North Group.

Head Coach Kevin Sharp has named a 13 strong squad for this evening’s game with the Foxes – the 15 players originally selected for last night’s encounter with Derbyshire Falcons minus Tom Fell and Dillon Pennington.

The Rapids squad for this evening is:
