MOEEN HITS FIRST IPL SIX AND TAKES A WICKET BUT CHALLENGERS ARE BEATEN

Moeen Ali hit the first six of the 2019 Indian Premier League and also picked up one wicket but his side, Royal Challengers Bangalore, went down by seven wickets to hosts Chennai Super Kings.

The Worcestershire all-rounder smashed Harbhajan Singh over the mid wicket boundary after coming into bat at number three.

He was dismissed by the same player after making nine off eight balls, popping up a return catch.

RCB were dismissed for just 70 in 17.1 overs with spinners Singh (3-20), Imran Tahir (3-9) and Ravindra Jadeja (2-15) causing the damage.

Moeen then bowled four overs for 19 runs, with 15 dot deliveries, after coming on first change.

He dismissed Chennai’s number three, Suresh Raina (19), who was caught on the long on boundary.

But the Kings completed a comfortable win with 14 balls to spare.

Moeen has linked up with the Challengers for a second spell after making his IPL debut in 2019.
