Moeen Recalled To England Odi Side For Edgbaston Meeting With India

Moeen Ali was today recalled to the England side for the fourth Royal London One-Day International against India at Edgbaston.

The Worcestershire all-rounder has been a regular member of the Test side this summer with seven appearances against Sri Lanka (two) and India (five).

But he has been overlooked for the last two ODIs after the first one of the five game series at Bristol was washed out.

Now Moeen is back in the side as the main spinner with Gary Ballance and Harry Gurner also playing their first matches of the series.

Ian Bell was ruled out with a toe injury on his home ground.

Moeen will be making his first ODI appearance since the tour of the West Indies during the winter.

He had scores of 44, 10 and 55 in that series and picked up a wicket in each match.

But he was left out of the side for the early season ODIs against Scotland and Sri Lanka although named in the squad.

England need to win to keep alive their hopes of drawing the series as they trail 2-0 with two matches to play.
