Moeen Retains His Place In Squad For Second Test At Lord’s

Moeen Ali has retained his place in the England squad for the second Investec Test with India at Lord's starting on Thursday (July 17).

The Worcestershire all-rounder is part of a 14 man party – the 13 named for the drawn Test at Trent Bridge plus Lancashire left arm spinner Simon Kerrigan.

Moeen had his longest bowl so far for his country on the final day of the game in Nottingham and picked up his third wicket of the innings.

He sent down 21 overs during the day and accounted for Stuart Binny for 78.

Binny was undone by a delivery from round the wicket which pitched in line and he was adjudged lbw.

His dismissal added to the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay that had fallen to Moeen on the fourth day.

His overall figures were 3-105 from 28 overs with four maidens.

India eventually declared their second innings on 391-9 from 123 overs.
