Moeen Ali's current spell of action with Worcestershire has been ended early ahead of his return to England duty.
The all-rounder was initially scheduled to play for the Rapids in the opening three matches in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
But that figure has now been reduced to two games and means the 29-year-old is unavailable for Wednesday's away One-Day Cup encounter with Northamptonshire Steelbacks.
Moeen will now focus his energies on England's ODI Series with Ireland and South Africa ahead of the ICC Trophy in June.
He ended his brief return to county action in style with a top score of 90 in the win over Leicestershire Foxes and the Fischer County Ground yesterday.
Moeen also showed his class in making the only half century of the game by either side in the low-scoring Specsavers County Championship win over Northamptonshire at New Road.
Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "Mo played so well and he bowled well but he is an England contracted player and that is his priority as well as England's priority and we've got to respect the England selectors.
"They did tell us it was three games but that is a change now to two but we've just got to take that on the chin, get on with it.
"Other sides are affected as well and we want Moeen to do really well for England.
"One of my jobs is to produce England players – as well as to win matches for Worcestershire.
"We should be proud he is involved in that set-up once again and part of what hopefully will be a very good season for England."
