Worcestershire Cricket Society held their annual general meeting yesterday evening in the 1865 Cricket Lounge at New Road.
The county's opening batsman, Richard Oliver, was the guest speaker.
The accounts for 2014-2015 were approved and showed that total income raised during that period came to £2,862.00p while total expenditure amounted to £2,301.98p
The Society had a healthy financial balance of £4,637.08p as at March 31, 2015.
Chairman Bill Tansell reported on another excellent group of speakers during well attended winter cricket evenings which are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Graeme Hick Pavilion.
The programme of events for October 2015 to March 2016 are currently being finalised but secretary Ann Mullen confirmed cricket writer, historian and Nottinghamshire CCC archivist and librarian Peter Wynne-Thomas as the guest speaker for next February.
Mike Hitchings and John Curtis were elected onto the Cricket Society committee.
It was agreed that Society subscription fees for 2015-2016 should remain at £15 single and £20 double.
Oliver gave an hour long entertaining talk about his life in cricket in this country and his several winters spent in Australia with Willetton Crows and more recently Geelong City where he is captain and also groundsman.
He spoke of his close relationship with Kevin Sharp who was his coach at Shropshire before becoming batting coach-second eleven coach at Worcestershire.
Oliver also said that he believes county paceman Charlie Morris is destined for England honours.
The evening ended with Oliver, who will be in action this evening in the T20 match against Shropshire at Bridgnorth, presented with one of the Society's tumblers.
