Oliver, Shantry And Morris In Action In ‘pears’ Versus ‘rapids’ At Chester Road

Worcestershire 'Pears' and Worcestershire 'Rapids' will do battle in a two day friendly encounter starting at Kidderminster today (11am).

The sides at Chester Road will contain a mixture of players not participating in the two-day game at Northampton, second eleven and academy players.

The intention is for the Pears, who include skipper Richard Oliver, Jack Shantry and Charlie Morris to bat on day one and the Rapids, including Joe Clarke, George Rhodes and Ben Twohig, to bat on day two.

The Seconds have shown some encouraging form in their previous two friendly matches against Loughborough MCCU and Somerset.

Rhodes, who is skippering the Rapids side, scored a century against Loughborough and a half century against Somerset, while slow left armer Twohig picked up eight wickets against Somerset.
