Only Ten Days Until ‘frozen’ Will Be Screened At New Road

Only Ten Days Until ‘frozen’ Will Be Screened At New Road

It might be the height of summer but Worcestershire supporters can expect to be 'Frozen' if they visit New Road in 10 days time.

For the world's highest grossing animated film of all time is being screened at the county's headquarters on Saturday, July 18.

'Frozen' – the Walt Disney film inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Snow Queen' – will be shown on the electronic scoreboard.

The film which will appeal to a wide audience and already the county have sold hundreds of tickets for the 2pm screening.

It is an ideal opportunity to bring a picnic and sit on the grass in – hopefully – the sunshine but the Graeme Hick Pavilion will also be open to cater for film-goers.

Worcestershire commercial director Jon Graham said: "A lot of things we've done for the club's 150th Anniversary, it's been looking at things that have been done in the past that have gone down well.

"The outdoor cinema is definitely one of those things that has worked well in the past. We've always brought in an external company and external screen to put the show on.

"Given we've got our own scoreboard which is bigger than most of those screens you can bring in, commercially it makes more sense that we've got the flexibility to run it through our own hardware. We've already done a test on the screen itself and it looks really good."

Graham added: "We are into the hundreds in terms of ticket sales already. We've chosen the film because it appeals to a wide audience.

"It's the biggest grossing animated film of all time. We all probably know the songs and it is a really popular movie.

"Hopefully the sun will be shining and what a beautiful setting to have an outdoor cinema event.

"We'd like to do more of them as we go into 2016 and there's no reason why we can't. We've got all the facilities here to do it."
