This new history of the County Cricket Club by Andrew Thomas is a must buy for any fan of cricket and consists of 540 pages, A4 size and covers many aspects of Worcestershire CCC.
It includes 28 pages on the flooding at New Road and mentions many county, national and international events to help put the club in context.
Pears 150 has more than half a million words, 19 graphs, 22 charts, 14 maps, 23 tables and 243 photographs.
It has been a labour of love for the last 10 years for Thomas.
He said: "My first cricket match attended at New Road was between Richie Benaud's 1961 Australians and Worcestershire. For more than 50 years, I have kept an eye on WCCC's matches, from near and far, through good times and bad.
"About 10 years ago, I thought about writing an unofficial history of the club for its 150th Year. Writing Pears 150 became a half-day a week or day-trip hobby which lasted several years but had a long known inmovable dead-line, the club's 150th Year.
"This determined the possible depth of research but also turned up many interesting topics which had to be left for others in the future. That's why there are so many question marks in the book.
"I did not approach the club until sure the project could be completed in the time available. The then new chief executive, David Leatherdale, was very supportive and he even gaveme an extra year as I was working towards a 2014 dead-line."
Thomas added: "Anyone who has compiled their Family Tree at the local History Centre, or in more recent years, on-line, will know how easy it is to be distracted into other areas of research.
"Scanning reels and reels of micro-film of old newspapers looking for WCCC references is even worse. Almost every page has a distracting head-line. However, the task is no hardship.
"There are worse ways to spend an icy winter's morning than on a comfy chair in the warmth of Worcester's History Centre, now The Hive.
"There were also people to contact and places to visit. Everyone was knowledgeable and most helpful."
Pears 150 costs £28 and is available to purchase from the Worcestershire Supporters' Association shop at the back of the Basil D'Oliveira Stand.
