worcestershire’s players have been put through their paces in abu dhabi before the action out in the middle gets underway on tuesday in a 50 over match versus somerset.

the county squad have featured in three successive days of warm weather training since arriving in the uae on thursday.

first team coach alex gidman and the club’s coaching staff have been working closely with the 18 players who have made the trip.

a break from the schedule tomorrow (monday) will be followed by back to back one-day games against their west country opponents and then essex on wednesday.

worcestershire last faced somerset in 50 over cricket in a royal london one-day cup quarter-final at the cooper associates county ground in august 2016.

local rivals warwickshire will provide the opponents for a third 50 over contest on saturday before a two-day red ball contest versus essex on march 18-19.
