Rapids Aiming To Defend Last Unbeaten Record In Vitality Blast

worcestershire rapids will be defending the last surviving unbeaten record in the 2018 vitality blast when they take on yorkshire vikings at New Road tomorrow afternoon (1pm).

the competition is less than a third of a way through the group stages but all the other teams – in the north and south sections – have been beaten at least once.

the rapids made it four wins out of four thanks to friday’s 41 run success over visiting northamptonshire steelbacks.

head coach kevin sharp has named an unchanged 13 strong squad to face the challenge of the vikings.

it is the same 11 players who featured against the steelbacks plus all-rounder george rhodes and paceman andy carter.

head bowling coach alan richardson said: “we all know this form of the game can be a bit of a lottery.

“we are just trying to stay as consistent as we can in what we do and it gives us a chance of winning a game of cricket.

“yorkshire are a good, strong side so it will be another challenge for us on sunday.”
