Worcestershire Women’s Rapids wicket-keeper Chloe Hill will be playing at Lord’s next week alongside England greats Charlotte Edwards and Sarah Taylor.

Hill has been chosen to represent the MCC Women’s team who will be taking on Middlesex Women at the home of cricket on Tuesday (April 24).

The fixture forms part of the celebrations for the MCC’s Women’s Day.

Worcestershire Cricket Board cricket development director, Tom Hill, believes the recognition received by Chloe Hill can only help the girls and women’s game to further grow in the County.

He said: “It is a great honour for Chloe and she will have some esteemed team-mates in former England captain Charlotte Edwards and Sarah Taylor who I believe is taking the gloves off for this game.

“It is a great opportunity for Chloe and currently it is a really good moment for women’s cricket in Worcestershire.

“We’ve got England Women playing again at Blackfinch New Road in an ODI and Worcestershire Women’s Rapids will be competing in Division One of the National T20 League after gaining promotion – with Chloe part of that squad.

“Then on top of that it is really good to see our own players gaining representative honours at the home of cricket.

“It will be great to have Chloe acting as a role model to inspire the girls playing cricket across the County.

“With the girls, having role models that are really performing and getting recognition, it really does get them thinking ‘I want to do that’ and ‘that could be me’

“It gives them that drive – in the same as Moeen Ali with the Worcestershire squad gives them that drive and realisation what can be achieved.”
