Rapids Supporters Can Be “our 12Th Man”

Worcestershire CEO Tom Scott has urged supporters to get behind the team during Saturday's Royal London One-Day Cup semi-final with Surrey and said: "They can be our 12th man."

Thousands of Rapids will be packing New Road for the club's first semi-final appearance since 2004.

The gates will open at 8am and there is a genuine feeling of excitement as the County attempt to seal a Lord's final spot.

Tom Scott said: "You can sense the excitement mounting amongst supporters especially that we now know who our semi-final opponents will be.

"It is our first semi-final for 13 years, we are one game away from Lord's, and the players deserve this occasion for the amount of effort they have put in this year.

"To top the group was an unbelievable achievement for a home grown side with an immense amount of talent.

"We want the crowd and members to support the event and, equally as importantly, we want the players to enjoy their day.

"The supporters need to get behind the team and make sure the ground is full and we want them to be very vocal on the day and support Worcestershire.

"They can be like the 12th man."

Supporters can park their cars on the ground on Saturday for just £10 – and the advice is to arrive early.
