Rhodes’ Faith In Munro’s Six-Hitting Ability Proves Justified

Rhodes’ Faith In Munro’s Six-Hitting Ability Proves Justified

Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes pre-season belief that Colin Munro's six-hitting ability would thrill Worcestershire Rapids fans has been more than justified in the opening series of games in the NatWest T20 Blast.

The New Zealand batsman has so far cleared the boundary on 10 occasions – twice as many times as any other Worcestershire batsman – ahead of Sunday's home meeting with Lancashire Lightning (2.30pm start).

He has passed the 30 run mark on five occasions in his eight innings to date with a top score of 65 in the away win over Derbyshire Falcons.

Munro is the county's second highest run scorer on 225 – just five behind skipper Daryl Mitchell who has passed the 50 mark in three of his last four innings.

On the bowling front, paceman Chris Russell is the leading wicket-taker with 16 in six appearances.

But Saeed Ajmal has the best economy rate, conceding just six runs an over.
