Steve Rhodes hailed a "clinical performance" from Worcestershire Rapids after they overcame Yorkshire Vikings by seven wickets to maintain their 100 per cent start to the NatWest T20 Blast North Group.
The Rapids have won their opening three fixtures and reached a 174 target with five balls to spare.
Rhodes was delighted his players had sealed another triumph for the sake of all-rounder Ed Barnard who bowled three excellent opening overs for just 15 runs but conceded 30 in his final over to Liam Plunkett.
The former England Under-19 captain had also returned the excellent figures of 1-14 in the win over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston last Friday.
Director of Cricket Rhodes: said: "I'm really delighted because it was a pretty clinical performance and, in the field and with the ball for 17 overs, we were absolutely class.
"I was so pleased that we managed to get home for Ed Barnard because he suffered a bit of a beating in one of his overs and that's tough for any young man to take really because I think he bowled three overs in the powerplay for 15 runs which is outstanding.
"He just got it wrong in one over so we were desperate to win for him and the way the guys batted, the first six overs, and then a wonderful partnership towards the end, it was a really good chase.
"Eighty five per cent of our bowling and fielding, we totally got them where we wanted them and with those three final overs (which cost 61 runs) they suddenly had a score on the board which was a bit above par.
"That is T20 cricket. We got the points and we've managed to do that for Ed Barnard. He had one over where he got mauled and thankfully for us and him, we can all learn from that."
Alexei Kervezee (52 not out) and Brett D'Oliveira (34 not out) added 66 in eight overs to see the Rapids home.
Rhodes said: "What a partnership from Dolly and Alexei. They are both in good form and their running between the wickets is difficult to keep under control.
"We shouldn't forget all the fielding but in particular Alexei, some of his fielding, the amount of runs he stops is just phenomenal really for a T20 game."
Worcestershire's response was ideal after the five wicket setback against Gloucestershire in the Specsavers County Championship.
Rhodes said: "We had a taste of defeat yesterday against Gloucs and there was no point in digging deep into why.
"I said to the lads 'this is crazy, we are playing a really important T20 tomorrow, let's put this one to bed, get your heads up and have a good performance against Yorkshire' and they've done that now.
"Hopefully we are back on the horse and we've got a bit of momentum again."
