Steve Rhodes saluted skipper Daryl Mitchell's flying start to the season and asked why the Worcestershire skipper is not talked about as an international prospect.
The 30-year-old followed his first innings 109 with an unbeaten 151 in the LV = County Championship match with Glamorgan at the Swalec Stadium.
Mitchell, who also scored 172 not out against Hampshire, has now passed 500 first class runs for the campaign in just four matches.
It is an exceptional effort given the challenging conditions opening batsmen face early in an English domestic season.
Mitchell has batted for nearly 12 hours in total against Glamorgan and been on the outfield for every minute of the opening three days.
Director of Cricket Rhodes said: "Daryl has got two centuries in the game, has played ever so well and I would imagine Glamorgan are sick of the sight of him.
"It is quite amazing to think he has now got three 100s and we've only played four games.
"It is a really good effort from him and the key partnership was with Alex Hales (63) who also played well.
"Mitchell has been brilliant and people forget he has passed 500 runs in four games and at the start of the season in April and a little bit of May.
"For an opening batsman, when the ball nips around, it is testimony to the qualities he has got as an opener and knowing his game, playing his game, making sure he stays in his bubble.
"Like I've said before, there are worse people that have maybe played international cricket and why don't people think about him and talk about him?"
