Richard Settles Back Into Life Down Under With Geelong

Richard Settles Back Into Life Down Under With Geelong

Richard Oliver has quickly settled back into life at Geelong Cricket Club after his first season of county cricket with Worcestershire.

Oliver skippered the Melbourne club to a 22 run victory against Leopold in their opening Geelong Cricket Association Division One 50 over match at the weekend.

The opening batsman said: "My first week in Geelong was pretty solid. We started with a good win on Saturday after losing the toss on a sticky wicket first up.

"It flattened out nicely as the game went on so we got the poor end of conditions, but the boys came out on top.

"I nicked off to slip for 10 and didn't bowl but my Saqlain Mushtaqs are coming out nicely in the nets!

"We've got a good set-up for training with Tuesday mainly dedicated to fielding and fitness with Thursday mainly dedicated to batting and bowling skills in the nets.

"The ground is looking good for this time of year after a mild spring which is ideal too.

"So good scenes in Geelong and I've come back to a fairly well oiled machine at the cricket club."
