Seconds 50 Over Bristol Friendly Falls Victim To Weather

Seconds 50 Over Bristol Friendly Falls Victim To Weather

Worcestershire Seconds have suffered more weather frustration with tomorrow's 50 over friendly with Bristol University at Bristol CC already called off after today's torrential downpours.

It is the fifth successive day of cricket that the Seconds have had washed out in the last week.

The final two days of the Second Eleven Championship match with Nottinghamshire, the Second Eleven Trophy game between the two sides plus yesterday's 50 over friendly with the North Staffs South Cheshire League have all also fell victim to the weather.

Colin Munro, Brett D'Oliveira and Chris Russell, all members of the Worcestershire Rapids side which overcame Northamptonshire in the NatWest T20 Blast on Friday, had been scheduled to play in one or both 50 over matches this week.

The weather has also frustrated spinner Shaaiq Choudhry's efforts to gain match fitness after recovering from a broken thumb in club cricket.

The Seconds next competitive match will be a Second Eleven Trophy encounter with Glamorgan at Kidderminster on Monday, June 16.

That will be followed by a three-day Championship match against Glamorgan at the same venue from June 17-19.
